New Business:
Annexation:
Fisher stated that the appeals to stop the
annexation
have been dismissed and the Town is moving forward with the annexation.
Fisher
said that he and Beth are reviewing maps and gathering as much data as
possible
to help aide in the annexation process.
Fisher said he has prepared a letter for the new town
residents to welcome them and explain what different services his
departments
have to offer and provide them with all his contact information.
Lucas said that the Town is waiting for the courts to
release necessary paperwork. Lucas said Rob Coghill has toured the area
investigating problem areas and things we can correct. The Town would
like to
get several projects done ASAP.
Old Business:
Fisher said Ordinance 2011-01 was presented
to the
Town Council and approved contingent on the review of the Town Attorney
and his
approval. Tim Osha informed Fisher the Ordinance had been approved by
Tony Long
and is in file at the Town Hall.
Fisher reported the 2010 Building Permit Report was
taken to the Ohio Township Assessor.
Fisher reported the home at 516 E. Adams is progressing
nicely.
The home at 304 Wabash has been completed
with the
exception of a yard lamp, yard excavation and landscaping.
Rhonda ask if Fisher had gathered any information on
the Travel Trailer that was sitting at the church on Washington Ave.
Fisher said
he was of the understanding that the Pastors were going to gather
information
how other towns ordinances are worded on this matter.
All were in agreement that something needs to
be in
writing so everyone can be regulated fairly and equally. Ray Jenkins
said he
would try to look into this and possibly put some verbiage together on
this.
Rhonda also mentioned that we voted to waive the side
walk and curb on the Williams street Habitat house because there were
none in
the area.
It was mentioned that if we don’t
require this on all
new construction twenty years down the road we’ll be stuck with
that
responsibility. It was also mentioned that the location at State St and
Jefferson sidewalks are existing on the East side of the property.
There was
discussion that it was not going to be that much sidewalk possibly
twenty feet.
Rhonda stated Mr. Knights grandson said
after he gathered all the information and estimates the project had
gone so far
over budget that he was not going to be able to continue.
Ray Jenkins brought up the fact about the free
standing carports that are being converted into garages. Some
discussions were
had about what could be done to eliminate this. There was a lot of
discussion
about how the sides and ends could or could not be covered. Mr. Jenkins
said he
would go to one of the dealers and gather information on the different
models
and basic carports and options provided by the dealers.
