UPDATE: Monday, Aug. 17
South State Street between Oak Street and Greenwood Road will temporarily open to through traffic from 7 pm tonight (Monday, Aug. 17) through tomorrow morning at 8 am, and will be closed through Wednesday, Aug. 20 between the hours of 8 am to 6 pm.
UPDATE: Friday, Aug. 14
South State Street between Oak Street and Greenwood Road will remain closed through the evening of Monday, Aug. 17; it is expected to reopen to through traffic Tuesday morning. Heavy rainfall caused a delay in the culvert work that necessitated the road closure. The road will remain barricaded until work has been completed; please continue to plan accordingly by finding an alternate route if you need to travel through the construction area.
Please be advised the Town of Chandler will close South State Street to through traffic between Oak Street and Greenwood Drive beginning Monday, Aug. 10, for a culvert replacement just north of Thorpe Lane. Local homeowners can access their homes during the construction period (expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 14) from whichever side of the ditch they reside, but the road will be completely cut off from traffic in the construction area, so please plan accordingly. There will be signage, barrels, and barricades in place. Oak Street and Greenwood Drive will remain open to provide an alternate route around the construction. Emergency and school transportation personnel have been notified of the closure.
