    View from the top

When the time comes to complete work at the top of one of our water towers, some of our utilities employees are eager to take on the task. Earlier this week, two employees climbed approximately 140 feet to the catwalk on our Fuquay Road water tower, and another 45 feet to the top of the tank to perform general maintenance.

While the work was routine, the view from atop is anything but ordinary. From the Evansville downtown skyline and the smoke stacks at A.B. Brown Power Plant in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, to ALCOA’s Warrick Operations and beyond the Ohio River into Kentucky, it is a totally different perspective of our community.

As Maintenance II employee Tyler Kinder said, “It’s like climbing any other ladder until you look down from the top.”
