The Chandler Volunteer Fire Department has shared that one of their members, Hunter Blackford, was recently named Hero of the Week by the 716th Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade. The Battalion released the following report:

PFC Blackford, 194th Military Police Company, was on patrol and out-of-service at the Kentucky Shoppette at Fort Campbell when a pregnant diabetic lost consciousness while shopping. PFC Blackford kept the woman from falling; he prevented her fall a second time after she stood up to regain her balance and lost consciousness again. PFC Blackford called for an EMT and notified dispatch of the situation. The woman was transported to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital and treated via ambulance. “PFC Blackford’s quick and unhesitant reaction to the situation prevented possible injury to both the mother and unborn child.”
