Town petitions for minor decrease in water rates

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Chandler, Warrick County, Indiana, under and pursuant to the Public Service Commission Act, as amended, filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) on or about April 29, 2022 to decrease the schedule of rates and charges to reflect the elimination of utility receipts tax in the calculation of rates and charges pursuant to House Enrolled Act (“HEA”) 1002 (Public Law 138). Approval of the filing is expected approximately thirty days after filing. The decrease in these rates and charges is applicable to all customers. This decrease in rates and charges results in a $0.45 reduction on the average residential monthly bill assuming 4,000 gallons.

The changes in the schedule of rates and charges submitted to the Commission are based solely upon HEA 1002, recently passed by the General Assembly. The decrease in rates and charges shall apply following final approval by the Commission or July 1, 2022, whichever is later.

Objections to this filing can be forwarded to Secretary, Utility Regulatory Commission, 101 W. Washington Street, Suite 1500 East, Indianapolis, IN 46204, and Office of Utility Consumer Counselor, 115 W. Washington Street, Suite 1500 South, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
